When I started fooling around with the Internet, I realized that to be able to come up with or create a website, one has to know some things about HTML, Dreamweaver, and other website building applications. A little programming knowledge was also vital in creating these online projects. During that time only geeks in my school can pull off fully functional websites. Although websites and website building is something very interesting, I still refused to learn it as I did not have the time and patience to actually read books, attend courses, and experiment with website building applications. I also did not have the money to purchase all those books, pay for tuition, and get web building applications. In 1998, a group of people created Wix.com, a free website builder, to be able to make website building more accessible to people who do not know how to manipulate more complex website building applications. Wix.com’s website building and designing interface is so user friendly that everything can be done via dragging and dropping items on the website page. Users who are not familiar with the service can be guided online with the help of some tutorials and videos scattered around the Internet that provide basic information and tips in creating websites. There are also website templates that can be used by users for easier website building. Wix.com has empowered a lot of individuals in making and designing websites themselves. Wix.com has definitely gave professional graphic artists and professional web designers a run for their money.
